Week 9

This week was not productive for our project. Although, it was very productive and tough for practices, we have learned so much choreography. We have been tought most of our flag work for our winter guard flag feature, and will soon find out what our theme for the show will be. Tomorrow we are learning dance or rifle work. We will also find out the costume, which I am very excited about. I am also pumped about our winter break from school. I have been stressed with a lot of my classes and some practices. I am just ready to spend time with my dad at home and enjoy each others company. I will post over break on our blog because I will not be so stressed and busy. Kena and I are excited for the future of our blog. I am going to share a link to our blog on our instagram page this Friday or Sunday.

Week 8

Since our last team member moved, my partner and I have been occupied with long practices and and tough nights with homework as our company. Last week I had the opportunity to look up some tips so that our blog may recieve more page views and become more popular. We are going to post more often to do so as well as advertising our blog on our instagram page. Kena and I have been talking about some things to post on our blog such as winter guard starting, adjusting to this cold weather while practicing after school till 7pm and 9pm. Kena and I plan to post a blog about enjoying winter break, and practicing over break as well. We hope that our readers will enjoy what we have been pondering about. Because Christmas break is coming up, Kena and I will have more time to blog about guard. These is our progress and plans.

Week 7

This past week my group and I have had a couple obstacles that we have to get past. As you know, one of our members moved out of the city and to another school. So now it is just my partner and I. We have to do the things that she had to do and take care of her responsibilities now. It may be a little difficult but I know my partner and I can do a good job at taking some of her responsibilities such as taking pictures of our colorguard while performing and thinking about what to post.  I will have my friend who lives with me take some photos of us, and we have a professional photographer for Band and Colorguard who takes pictures of us at every performance. This is our plan that we have to help us take care of some of the responsibilities that our other group member had. We plan to have our second post up within the next two weeks. Here is a picture of our band and colorguard at Finals.

Week 6

This past week I have had barely enough time to breathe. It has been a chore for me to do homework, and house cleaning. One of my team mates is moving which is going to effect part of our project. My other team mate and I need to plan on how to do some things without the extra help of our other partner. Without much warning my partner and I must find a way to work without her.We have not made much progress since my last blog, as I have been busy with colorguard, school, church, and family. We plan to have our next blog for the colorguard page, up within two weeks from now. Our colorguard team has another competition this weekend on Saturday. Life has been busy but we will find time for this project. We are truly excited for our page.  Here is a picture of my captain at one of our performances.

Week 5

Over the course of the past two weeks my group and I have achieved one of our goals. We published our first post for our life as a colorguard member blog. We wrote about our progress and how our hard work is starting to pay off. I wrote about one of the tournaments that we went to and competed at. On our blog we talked about how we are achieving our goals for our team. Our auxiliary scores were the highest scores of the night. We discussed how happy we were when we found out that we got sweeps at the Chaffey tournament. Words could not describe how happy we were to know that all our hard work and long practices are paying off. These past couple weeks have been pretty successful not just for our blog but for our team. Here is a picture from a tournament that we recently had.

Week 3

So this past week has been extraordinarily busy for my group and I. We took the PSATs today and were unable to work in class because we were taking the test. I have not had much spare time on my hands. I have been occupied with church, school and practice. School has been tough this past week, along with practices and personal issues. Because I have been busy, I have not had time to finish the other half of our blog. This week will be busy as well, but I plan on finishing the first post of our blog soon. My group and I need to brain storm what we will do after our first post. We will plan and share ideas about topics to post about weekly. This past week has not been productive for our project, but we will catch up on what we have not been able to do. The picture below is an example of a post or topic we will cover on our blog.

Week 2 of the %20 project

In this past week my group and I have been contemplating on what our first post will be. I have been extremely busy with personal events that is is hard to focus and think sometimes. My group and I were stuck on what we should post for our first blog on lifeasaguardie. So we then discoused  some ideas and opinions with another. We want to make our first post a good post, so that people will want to read it and not just skim past it. On Friday October forth I started to write a rough draft of the first half of our blog. I then corrected the grammar errors in the first half. At this point, I believe that the blog is well written and interesting. I will finish writing the other half of the blog on Thursday or Sunday night. If not I will ask one of my group members to help me out by finishing the other half. That sums up what i did this week.

Week 1 of 20% project

In my English class we were assigned the 20% project. My first thoughts was "Ohh great more work." As time passed on, my group and I realized that this could actually be intriguing. After a couple of weeks of distributing ideas for the project with another, we eventually came up with a proposal. This proposal included, what our timeline would be, what our project is, what we expect to learn and who our project would be effecting/helping others. Now, let's get into what my project is. My group and I are going to create another blog about color guard. What is color guard you might say?  It is a "Sport of the Arts, in which teams of highly skilled individuals work to create and perform complex sequences of dance, music, and use of special equipment, such as sabres, rifles, and flags, to compete by division." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_guard_%28flag_spinning%29 ).
We will be posting each week. We will post color guard memes created by my group and I. We want to encourage others who had a bad day at practice, or just need a good laugh. well that sums up my first week of the 20% project!
(P.S. this is an example of one of our posts) Created by yours truly.
